2024 Tradition NIT Begins 10/17

by Megan Tripicchio

The annual 2024 Tradition NIT kicks off Thursday, October 17th and runs through Sunday, October 20th. This year will be the largest yet and have 100 teams participating from all over the United States and Canada. There are 16U and 19U teams split across nine divisions that will compete in four games each throughout the weekend. The participating teams are some of the highest ranked programs in the US and Canada playing in highly competitive games. The Tradition NIT is one of the premier girl's hockey tournaments in North America attended by NCAA coaches. This year we have at least 45 colleges recruiting at the tournament.

The tournament marks the end of the MN Girl's HS Elite League season that has been going on since the beginning of September. The regular season teams from MN, ND, and WI get a chance to play teams across North America that they do not get a chance to play against for the rest of the year. It is also one of the best opportunities for players to showcase their ability in front of college coaches, and is a great way for families and fans of women's hockey to watch a number of elite teams compete.
